A message from the editorial staff: Agave Magazine is read in over 75 countries, and growing. We owe our dedicated readership to the immensely talented writers, artists, and photographers that fill our pages. We couldn't do what we do without the support and the encouragement of our readers. Thank-you! You truly mean the world to us.
2016 is a year of significant transformation here at AGAVE | Magazine + Press. Over the course of this year, we will be publishing two issues of our publication, as opposed to our normal quarterly, in order to allow for us to bring several special projects to the fore. We are already deep into our search for our next Artist-in-Residence, a title formerly held by the immensely talented artist and photographer, Tony Luciani. We will also be bringing our Limited Edition Manuscript series to press, featuring mixed genre work.
After publishing seven issues of Agave Magazine since we began in 2013, we have decided to get a little whimsical with our eighth issue. This issue will be available in its entirety on our website, by navigating the rubrics and their sub-sections listed below: Literature, Art, and Photography. Digital copies of this issue will be available in the shop in the very near future.
As we are now in the throes of Spring, this issue celebrates a vitality expressed through an unabashed creative spirit of memory, landscape (both urban and rural) and experimentation. Our featured writers, artists and photographers challenge the notions of their own visuality and ways of seeing, both in their minds and at play in the exterior world. Indeed, perception is not always what it may seem. What makes Vol.3, Issue 2 truly special is the variety of genres it encompasses, from poetry, short fiction and memoir to collage, painting, sculpture and beyond.
As always, I offer my deepest gratitude to our dedicated editorial staff: Anna, Deb, Emily, Grant, Issraa, Linda and Lisa. Thank-you for your continued support.
To the writers, artists, and photographers who fill these pages: It has been a wonderful process of assembly and it is our hope that Agave Magazine readers continue to discover (or even re-discover!) literary works and visual pieces whose words and images speak to their spirits and their intellectual enthusiasm. Your creative efforts are most appreciated.
Without further ado, I present to you, our treasured readers, Agave Magazine Volume 3, Issue 2.
